The National Caprese

Hello Foodies! How are you? Here, in Rome, we are having a very hot summer so it is necessary to eat fresh and tasty food. Today it’s the turn to our “National Caprese”. Good, tasty and very Italian!. How come? Because it has mozzarella and the colors of the Italian flag: green, red and white. Have you realized about that?  Enjoy it! 😉

– Tomatoes

– Cow or buffalo mozzarella

-Green salad: rocket or lamb’s lettuce salad are perfect

-Some Basil leaves

-Extra virgin olive oil.

-Salt and pepper

So, there’s not much to say and do! This is easy, fast and perfect for every meal.

Take the tomatoes. If the tomatoes are big you can cut them like in the picture to create and elegant salad. If you prefer, cut into slices.

Now the mozzarella. If it’s a buffalo one, even better!. The salad will be even more tasty. Cut the mozzarella into slices.

Take the green salad. Once it’s clean and ready put it on a plate. I like to use rocket or lamb’s lettuce salad. They are perfect.

Now add the tomato and the mozzarella. Then add a dash of extra virgin olive oil and some basil leaves on top to decorate and perfume the dish.

If you prefer you can use olive oil mixed with chopped basil to create a fresh and flavored sauce (as seen in the photo).

May the creativity be with you 😉

Don’t forget to put salt and pepper at the table … just in case someone wants some for the salad.

And now? What are you waiting for? Go for it!

See you soon!
